The other day, while I ditched work to go walking in the sun, only to stumble upon those fabulous pictures of cap’n who n’ da’ crew I forgot to mention the sparkly, fabulous music in my ears, acting as my soundtrack. It is one of my very favorite Cher songs (even though it’s a cover). My dear Sinclair put this song on a mix for me a few years ago and just now, sent me the link to the video, which I hadn’t seen.
Hot. Sexy. Yum. Love. Wonderful. Fabulous. Aaaah.
Thanks Sin.
Happy Friday-eve, all. Happy Cherday.

I’ve always wondered about “walking with my feet ten feet off of beale,” but I finally looked that up today — apparently it’s a reference to Beale Street in Memphis.
<3 that song.

I always thought the line was “ten feet off a pier.”
It was a long standing joke where I grew up that the tourists would ask “what elevation are we at?!” when standing on the docks, and we’d say, “oh, about TEN FEET.”
Also thought it meant something about walking off of a pier, over the water, ten feet, like a little miracle happening, but not a whole “I can walk on water” miracle, just a small, ten-feet miracle.

Dear cher,
It’s actually “Memphis” not “Memphus”.
thanks,

Dear sweet mikey,
It’s actually “what are you doing?” not “wudderyadune?” but this is what makes you fabulous, just like the Goddess of all things sparkly and her fabulous lilt. Serioulsy, do your best Cher impression and see if you could ever work an “ih” sound at the end of any word. Impossible. Or she would have. It had to be Memphuuus, it just had to be.
love,
jesse
